Teachers’ Certification

In this point, we should realize that the policies on teachers’ certification as well as students’ final evaluation have produced deterioration in education management in the country. For this perspective, decision-makers are considered of having a bad pedagogic skill (under their pedagogic age) and bad pedagogic quotients, or lower than 100 (over the average score)—this should not happened in the national level of decision-making. For the sake of tangible improvement of education in the country, people should carry out an evaluation on decision-makers’ pedagogic quotient. The House of Representatives (DPR) and the government are asked to conduct the assessment as well. However, past experiences showed that without direct public assessment, the role of the government and the DPR is very limited.

We cannot expect an improvement in education like waiting for Godot. Improvement could be achieved if the people are able to observe and to assess the performance of decision-makers in the country. In this perspective, assessment of pedagogic quotient by the people could be seen as a demonstration of people’s capacity in a maturing democracy.
