 Jakarta (SWA: (24/05/07) Rabobank International (RI) provides scholarships for 34 Senior High School students in farming areas in Tabanan Bali over three years.  The fund is channeled through the Sampoerna Foundation. The fund was handed by Hans ten Cate, RI Managing Board Chairman, to 10 representatives of the beneficiaries at the State Senior High School SMAN 1 Kerambitan, witnessed by Sampoerna Foundation Chief Operating Officer, Elan Merdy, in Wantilan Bale Banjar of Kerambitan hamlet in Tabanan, Bali. 

This is the second donation made by Rabobank group entrusted to the Sampoerna Foundation for improvement of access to education in Indonesia.  Previously, the bank has provided scholarships over three years for 60 elementary school students in Yogyakarta that has been affected by the earthquake. Now, RI as a world financial service company wants to pay more attention on agriculture and agribusiness sector by offering scholarships for students in farming areas in Tabanan, Bali. “We believe that human resources quality improvement is a long-term investment for the development of agriculture sector in Tabanan,” said Hans ten Cate.
