 Koran Tempo (26/06/07): PT Clariant Indonesia launched a program concerning education in Tangerang yersterday. This program is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility toward local residents. Through the Sampoerna Foundation, the company offers scholarships for 32 students from various education level.

“Many students are dropping out of school in Tangerang. We want to contribute to reduce drop out rate,” said PT Clariant Indonesia President Director Michael Lyons after signing an MoU with Sampoerna Foundation Operations Director, Elen Merdy.

As many as 32 students from kindergarten to university levels will get scholarships over 3 to 7 years. For under-graduate level, scholarships will be given to students of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and University of Indonesia who study chemistry and oil engineering.
