Jakarta  (Jurnal Nasional: (19/09/07) Insurance company PT ACE INA Insurance inaugurated new learning facilities in 8 schools in Yogyakarta on Tuesday (18/9). This is a part of the company’s commitment to provide assistance worth US$ 100.000 or Rp 900 million for education rehabilitation in Yogyakarta which has been raised through the ACE Foundation.

Channeled through the Sampoerna Foundation, the assistance was handed in the form of laboratory building, computer sets procurement, printer and books for school library.
Those eight schools are SMPN 3 Jetis junior high  school (Bantul), SMAN 1 Pundong senior high  school (Bantul), SMAN 2 Bantul senior high  school, SDN 1 Banyusoco elementary school (Gunung Kidul), SDN 2 Patuk elementary school (Gunung Kidul), SDN Jelapan elementary school (Bantul), SDN Duwet elementary school (Gunung Kidul), and SDN 1 Bantulan elementary school (Bantul). "ACE Insurance provides assistance based on specific needs of each school that have been assessed by the Sampoerna Foundation," said ACE INA Insurance Head of Marketing, Komang Priambada.

Komang added that his company is focusing on school equipment procurement because, so far, education assistance for schools affected by the earthquake in Yogyakarta is focused on physical rehabilitation. "That’s the reason why, supporting facilities such as laboratories and libraries, asides of the school building, are very necessary," Komang emphasized further. Yosafat Erie, Sampoerna Foundation Outreach Officer asserted that the post-quake rehabilitation in Yogyakarta needs a sustainable process. “That’s the reason, why ACE Insurance’s initiative is on the right track in helping to support sustainable education in Yogyakarta," he said.
